(22 Nov) Pitch Dimensions: As you know the size of the pitch can be adjusted for youth football. Please note that this only applies to the outer dimensions i.e. the length and width of the pitch. All internal measurements must be full-size e.g. penalty area 18 yards, goal area 6 yards, centre circle 10 yards radius etc. Please make sure your pitches comply with these requirements (13 Nov) Bicester Town Colts U13: The team has now obtained more players and will recommence their fixtures on 5th October. Postponed matches will be rescheduled. Revised fixture files can be downloaded from here (3 Sept) RULE CHANGE: Without is knowing the FA has brought in changes to the mini-soccer rules. So please note the rules in the U7/U8 handbook need amending to reflect the changes. The changes also affect U9 and U10 matches. The main change is to Law 8: Start and Restart of Play - in which it is now stated that "In Mini Soccer a goal cannot be scored directly from a start or restart of play." This only relates to the kick-off and restart after a goal. Please note in 11 aside football the rule is still "A goal may be scored directly from the kick-off". You can download the latest mini-soccer handbook for printing (or viewing) from here. A summary of amendments for the handbook are provided in the League's new Newsletter which you should have now received via e-mail or your Club Secretary. (30 Aug) MIXED FOOTBALL: The League has been granted another year s dispensation to allow girls to play mixed football up to and including U14 s. Any club who wish to sign girls on to play at the age groups U12, U13, and U14 must agree to complete the FA questionnaire when it is sent out without the quoted timescales. It was embarrassing for the League last year when the FA was chasing the completed questionnaires and we are one of the last Leagues to return all theirs. Not all Leagues who applied have been granted the dispensation so please make sure you comply with the FA s wishes. (29 Aug) Team withdrawal: Please note that Charlbury Town Youth have withdrawn from the U7 section until at least the end of this year - fixtures against them now become 'available to play'. The main change is to Law 8: Start and Restart of Play - in which it is now stated that "In Mini Soccer a goal cannot be scored directly from a start or restart of play." This only relates to the kick-off and restart after a goal. Please note in 11 aside football the rule is still "A goal may be scored directly from the kick-off". (30 Aug) MIXED FOOTBALL: The League has been granted another year s dispensation to allow girls to play mixed football up to and including U14 s. Any club who wish to sign girls on to play at the age groups U12, U13, and U14 must agree to complete the FA questionnaire when it is sent out without the quoted timescales. It was embarrassing for the League last year when the FA was chasing the completed questionnaires and we are one of the last Leagues to return all theirs. Not all Leagues who applied have been granted the dispensation so please make sure you comply with the FA s wishes.
